Absent Element Guild Rules

Some quick and easy guidelines for fitting in with the Absent Element crew. This will give you an idea of what we expect and what we won't tolerate.

Guild Chat Channel

It's always important for every member to use proper etiquette when communicating at all times. Keep in mind that guild members are of all ages, sex and race so being respectful is mandatory. Guild members log on to have fun, so cursing, arguing, insults, etc. are never needed nor tolerated. Other tips to keep in mind when communicating to other members, are as follows:

  • Begging for money or demanding help is never acceptable. Loans will occur from time to time, but are only offered to those who consistently give back to the guild by helping others, as well as through established friendships in the game.
  • Begging for help - the same general rules apply to receiving help in the game. Guild mates are generally happy to help you out with quests, etc., but if you consistently mooch help and never help other guildies in return, the help will probably stop coming your way. Expect to get what you give! Remember we all are on the same team, so don't take advantage of a fellow Guild member.
  • Spam Spamming the guild with ads selling gold for real cash will lead to disciplinary actions or possible booting from the Guild.
  • Harassment - Plain and simple; please be respectful. For a lengthier discussion of what constitues "respectful," Blizzard probably says it best. You can view their harassment policy here.

Partying Tips and Suggestions

Once again Blizzard says it best - this is a must-read for those new to partying (the WoW kind...):

Party etiquette is very important in a massively multiplayer game. Keep in mind that your reputation will follow you throughout your playing career. If you offend fellow party members, your reputation can be affected. Those party members can tell their friends or guild mates about your behavior and this may affect your dealings with them in the future. They could possibly refuse to invite you to group with them, they might not allow you to join their guild, or possibly bar you from receiving services from their guild mates. This is a worst-case scenario; however, it can happen, and it all depends on your behavior. So, it is always in your best interest to be on your best behavior. Making friends is more beneficial than creating enemies. The following is recommended but not mandatory behavior. Refer to our Game Polices for mandatory rules.

Reporting Complaints or Concerns

If for some reason you're having issues with a fellow Guild member it's best to report the situation to an officer or the Guild Master. Guild members should know about Ninja'ing, poor team work, harassment, etc., so please don't be afraid to speak up. We're looking to be surrounded by good players, and not ones who will steal or treat us poorly.
